Baseballcloud About

About

A baseball and softball analytics company focused on data collection and creating visualizations tools for training and scouting. Partnering on high school, college and professional levels BaseballCloud's core products, like BCTeam, allow coaches and trainers to see player data and use it to improve performance. Additional software, like BallR and PitchR, simulate that data into realistic visualizations, turning statistics into relatable lessons.

Primarily, I created baseball and softball stadiums using 3D Studio Max for the PitchR product line. The process would start with the gathering of reference materials of the clients facility. LIDAR scans via drones, initially for installation of tracking cameras, photography by clients to capture their stadium’s interior, and Google Earth would round out the reference materials.

Stadium Visualization

3D versions of client facilities provided a customized experience.

Tutorial Videos

Deep data leads to complex tools; meriting training for end users.

Once modeled stadiums would be optimized and exported to FBX files for use in the Unity3D game engine. After checking models to ensure appearance in Unity3D they’re packaged and sent to developers. Detailed baseballs and softballs would follow a similar process for customization and use in the BallR visualization tool.

These complicated tools for managing high volumes of data demanded tutorials to help the end users. Working with developers and customer relations I gathered an understanding of the function and uses of our software and wrote concise scripts. Then captured, edited with Adobe Premiere and After Effects, and recorded voice overs using Audition. The final videos were uploaded to YouTube.
