Based out of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, MountainTop was a software developer specializing in training software for the military. I was brought in as a 3D specialist to lead that aspect of several upcoming projects. For the forensic dental identification software I helped model 3D characters in Poser to represent victims needing identifying, and photographed dental remains to generate a 360 viewing tool so students could examine them for clues.
Forensic Dental Identification
Examiners will compare dental records to victims when normal ways of identifying aren't possible.
Aeromedical Evacuation
The Air Force uses various aircraft to transport patients; we created instructions for the C-17, C-130, KC-135, and the Blackhawk Helicopter.
For the aeromedical evacuation training the Air Force wanted courseware to refresh their personnel on the equipment and resources available on each aircraft. To have 3D walkarounds in a web deliverable format we used a plugin for Adobe Flash called Papervision, which had low polygon limits requiring me to highly optimize the 3D aircraft models using Lightwave.
The courseware in emergency hospital deployment required I model props, characters, and environments in Lightwave and create levels in Unity 3D. This project required exceptional coordination with instructional designers, programmers, Air Force personal and special materials experts to insure accurate, functional, and engaging final product.
